Road and Lane Closures for March 10 - 16, 2012

LAKE CITY – The following is a list of roadwork underway by the FDOT that may impact traffic.

ALACHUA COUNTY - Archer Road (State Road 24) Nighttime lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Southwest 44th and 78th streets, west of Interstate 75, for paving.

East University Avenue (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures to repaint the roadway markings from Waldo Road (State Road 24) to Main Street (State Road 329).

 Interstate 75 at Newberry Road (Exit 387) Traffic has been shifted to new lanes on the northbound exit ramp to Newberry Road (State Road 26).  The speed limit remains reduced to 60 mph. Semi-trucks are allowed to use the northbound inside lane approaching the Newberry Road interchange. The sidewalk on the south side of the overpass on Newberry Road between the northbound and southbound exit ramps remains closed. Pedestrians are directed to use the sidewalk on the north side of the road.

Interstate 75 frontage road (April Boulevard) Daytime lane closures starting Tuesday from US 441 to the end of the road for painting the final roadway markings.

Newberry Road (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures for eastbound and westbound traffic at the I-75 northbound exit ramp between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for work in the medians.

North Main Street (State Road 329) Daytime lane closures to repaint the roadway markings from East University Avenue to Northwest Eighth Avenue.

Northwest Sixth Street (State Road 20) Daytime lane closures to repaint the roadway markings from Northwest Eighth Avenue to US 441.

 Northwest Eighth Avenue (State Road 20) Daytime lane closures to repaint the roadway markings from North Main Street to Northwest Sixth Street.

Northeast 39th Avenue (State Road 222) Daytime lane closures a half mile east of the FDOT offices located in the 5300 block on Wednesday and Thursday for roadway testing.

State Road 26 in Orange Heights Daytime lane closures at the US 301 and CSX Railroad overpass from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for safety improvements.

State Road 26 Daytime lane closures to repaint the roadway markings from Hawthorne Road (State Road 20) to the Putnam County line and crews will be repainting the roadway lines which is a moving operation.

State Road 235 Daytime lane closures between County Road 241 and the Bradford County line near Brooker after 8:30 a.m. for shoulder work. Traffic is shifted and the travel lanes reduced to 11 feet on the Santa Fe River bridge. A temporary concrete barrier wall is installed on the bridge to provide safety for both motorists and workers while guardrail is installed.

State Road 235 UPCOMING: The railroad crossing between Alachua and La Crosse is scheduled to be closed for replacement Saturday, March 24 at 9 a.m. until March 31 at 5 p.m. A detour route will be  posted.

US 301 Daytime lane closures between the Bradford and Marion County lines to repaint roadway markings.

US 441 Daytime lane closures from Northwest Sixth Street to the Columbia County line to repaint roadway markings.

BAKER COUNTY:

County Road 125 (Manntown Bridge) The Manntown Bridge, just south of Interstate 10,  is closed to all traffic for bridge replacement. Traffic is detoured to Mud Lake Road (County Road 130), State Road 121, I-10 and back to CR 125.

County Road 250A (Forest Road 42) Daytime lane closures between US 90 and Interstate 10 for resurfacing and shoulder work.

BRADFORD COUNTY:

Pratt Street The road between State Road 100 and US 301 has been reopened at Parkland Place but possible daytime lane closures to finish the construction of a sidewalk.

State Road 230 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between US 301 and the Clay County line which is a moving operation.

US 301 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines between the Alachua and Clay county lines which is a moving operation.

COLUMBIA COUNTY:

Branford Highway (SR 247) Work to add a northbound right turn lane onto Bascom Norris Road is underway and utility companies are moving their utility lines off the east side of the road which should not impact traffic.

Interstate 10 Daytime lane closures between US 41 (Exit 301) and US 441 (Exit 303) to place the final layer of asphalt on Monday and Tuesday. Also, possible daytime lane closures to replace guardrail. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.

Interstate 75 Two lanes will be closed in either the northbound or southbound lanes at the Alachua County line Monday night beginning at 8 p.m. until Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. to reseal the bridge joints at the Santa Fe River Bridge. Then, Tuesday at 6:30 a.m., single daytime lane closures will continue at the bridge to finish the work. Also, daytime lane closures between the Alachua County line and three miles north of US 41/441 (Exit 414) to finish guardrail replacement.

State Road 47 Daytime lane closures from US 41 to the Gilchrist County line (Santa Fe River) to repaint roadway markings.

US 441 Daytime lane closures Wednesday and Thursday after 8:30 a.m. at the Interstate 10 interchange for resurfacing.

GILCHRIST COUNTY:

US 129 The road will be closed in Trenton on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Suwannee Valley Quilt and Old Time Craft Festival. Trenton Police and the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Department will detour traffic.

HAMILTON COUNTY:

Interstate 75 The southbound agricultural inspection station at mile marker 446 is closed while a new station is built.  All livestock is redirected to the FDOT weigh station at mile marker 451 which is north of the closed agricultural inspection station.

Interstate 75 Daytime and nighttime lane closures (24 hours a day) beginning Tuesday at 7 a.m. for southbound traffic between US 129 (Exit 451) and the Suwannee County line (Suwannee River) for resurfacing. No work allowed Friday at 6 a.m. until Sunday at 9 p.m. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.

State Road 6 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from the Madison County line to US 41 which is a moving operation.

State Road 143 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from Interstate 75 to US 41 which is a moving operation.

US 129 Crews will be repainting the roadway lines from US 41 to the Georgia line which is a moving operation.

LEVY COUNTY:

Northeast 205th Avenue (County Road 331A) Daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to build a sidewalk from County Road 318 to Northeast Fourth Avenue for Williston Middle School.

MADISON COUNTY:

US 90 Daytime lane closures from Greenville to the Madison city limits to clean ditches.

SUWANNEE COUNTY:

Interstate 10 Daytime lane closures for westbound traffic this weekend between US 90 (Exit 275) and US 129 (Exit 283) for paving. Then, daytime lane closures continue Monday through Friday for westbound and eastbound traffic to place the final layer of asphalt. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.

State Road 51 Daytime lane closure Monday between Evergreen Avenue and Pinewood Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for paving a turn lane onto a new side street location at Silas Drive.

State Road 51 Daytime lane closures at various locations between Live Oak and Luraville on Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for resurfacing.

US 90 Daytime lane closures at various locations between the north Live Oak city limits and the Madison County line (Suwannee River) on Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for resurfacing. Also, crews will be repainting the roadway lines between the Columbia County line and the north Live Oak city limits which is a moving operation.

TAYLOR COUNTY:

US 19 Daytime lane closures for northbound traffic south of Perry for investigation into a roadway depression.

US 98 Possible daytime lane closures Monday through Friday as work continues to build a temporary bridge across the Aucilla River at the Jefferson County line. No detours will be required for this project.

UNION COUNTY:

State Road 100 Possible daytime lane closures at State Road 121 after 8:30 a.m. and at the intersection of Lake Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to replace the traffic signals and concrete poles in Lake Butler.
