Jasen T. Hendrickson, 26, of High Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in High Springs. He was a native of Colon, Mich., and a graduate of the Colon High School Class of 2004.
Mr. Hendrickson was a cabinetmaker at Hunter Marine in Alachua, an avid fisherman and a University of Michigan fan. He loved his family, Michigan sports and working with children.
He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Christine Seguin Hendrickson, High Springs; maternal grandparents, Homer and Katherine Seguin, Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.; one sister, Tricia (Greg) Kurzawski; a niece, Brooke Kurzawski; a nephew, Samuel Kurzawski, all of Lake City; one brother, Joshua (Chelsea) Hendrickson of Marquette, Mich., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in Colon, Mich. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs.

Richard Michael Maldonado, 46, of Ft. White, Fla., passed away in his home on Jan. 2, 2013. He was born to Michael and Judith Maldonado on July 13, 1966 in Hollywood, Fla.
Mr. Maldonado is survived by his girlfriend of 12 years, Rita Sheppard; his father, Michael Maldonado; one brother, Michael Maldonado; and six sisters, Carol Cagle, Denise Buck, Michaele Simons, Linda Maldonado, Lisa Avalos and Janis Luna.Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, High Springs, Fla.

Dewey Edward Martin “Papa Bear”, 50, of High Springs, Fla., passed away on Dec. 24, 2012.
Mr. Martin was born Sept. 4, 1962 to Dewey and Dorothy Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Martin; his mother, Dorothy Martin; one son, Thomas Martin of Ft. White; three daughters, Jennifer Deughtery of Lake City, Charlotte Hull of Ft. White and Maranda Martin of Ft. White; one brother, Steve Martin, of High Springs; two sisters, Cynthia Martin of Inverness and Sandra Bray of Old Town; and four grandchildren, Sarahann and Penny Deughtery, and Michael and Colton Hull, all of Ft. White.
A visitation will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Evans-Carter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at High Springs Church of God, High Springs, Fla.

Harold Norman Benton, 79, of High Springs, passed away in his home on Dec. 27, 2012.
Mr. Benton was born Oct. 14, 1933 in Birmingham, Ala., to Clarence and Ethel Benton.
He is survived by two sons, David Benton of High Springs and Harold Benton of Albany, Ga.; two daughters, Tammy Davis and Pam Hash both of High Springs; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at High Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Nature Coast 150 North Main Street, High Springs, FL 32643
Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, High Springs.

Marion Lewis Nieland, 88, lifetime Alachua resident, departed this life on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her residence. She was the longest living member of First United Methodist Church of Alachua and a graduate of the Alachua High School Class of 1942, a founding member of the Alachua Recreation Board and affectionately known as Coach Grand Ma. She was an active registered nurse for 50 years retiring at the age of 70.
She was preceded in death by her late husband David O. Nieland. Survivors include a son, David (Marlene) Nieland, Fort White; four daughters, Debbie (Rodger) Mallard, Alachua, Nancy Duke, Daytona Beach, Sandra Thrower, Covington, Georgia, and Mona (Joe) Halverson, Plano, Texas; two sisters, Laura Jean Robinette, Satellite Beach and Catherine Floyd, Indian Pass, Florida; brother, James Lewis, Alachua; 12 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 at First United Methodist Church of Alachua with Rev. Lamar Albritton officiating. Burial will be at Newnansville Cemetery in Alachua. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Santa Fe Babe Ruth Softball, P.O. Box 0897 Alachua, FL 32616. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans – Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, FL.
