Rosa Lee (Holmes) James, 70, passed on Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Tampa, Fla.  She was born to the late Westley Holmes, Sr. and Burnella Brooks Holmes in Philadelphia, Pa.

She was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School Class of 1959.  She developed a distinguished career with the Internal Revenue Service and worked at the headquarters in Washington, D.C., retiring from the IRS after 33 years of service.

Mrs. James was an accomplished pianist and had a beautiful voice.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leon Holmes, Sr. and Elmer Peter Holmes.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Dorsenia James, Sr.; brother, Westley (Denise) Holmes, Jr.; sons, Michael (Carla Bonner), Dorsenia Jr., Ricardo (Valerie) James, and daughter, Sabrina; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. James will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Ft. White, Fla., Rev. Donnell Sanders, Pastor, Rev. John Simpkins, Eulogist.  Burial will follow in Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Ft. White, Fla.  Visitation will be Friday 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
