Wallace Malcolm Hawkins, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. Mr. Hawkins was born in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Wallace Marvin Hawkins and Lillian Wilson Hawkins. He served in the Air Force, retired from the civil service at Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Hardison Baptist Church, where he cared for the church grounds for several years. He enjoyed being outdoors, loved to garden, and spent time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Louise Hawkins; their children, Daryl and Melaine Hawkins of Byron, and Don and Vicky Hawkins of Centerville; grandchildren, Kristin and Dennis Fryzel of Louisville, Ky., Kystle and Kris Williamson of Perry; great grandchildren, Hayden, Landyn, Aaron James, Aslyn, and Luke; and a sister, Yvonne McMillian of Stockbridge. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Gallimore, and a brother, Jimmy Hawkins.

Visitation was held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Rooks Funeral Home in Bryon, Ga. A graveside service with military honors was held Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Fort White, Fla., Rev. Rick Odum officiated.
