Maudine Lee Douglas, 84, a longtime Gilchrist County resident, passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2016 at NFRMC in Gainesville following a lengthy illness.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of High Springs, Florida. Mrs. Douglas retired from General Electric/Gates Energy after 30 years of service. Her hobbies included quilting, crafts, spending time with her family (grandchildren), and cooking for her family using many recipes from her cookbook collection. She was the final sibling of the Lee family.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by her son, Donald Douglas of High Springs; daughter, Wanda Hudson of Ft. White, Floirda; grandchildren Kitty (Chris) Thornton, Kevin (Cori) Douglas, Kurt Douglas, Michael (Brittany) Hudson, and Tammy Hudson; seven great- grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

The Douglas family will receive guests at a visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home, 18724 North Main Street, High Springs, with a Funeral Service the following day, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, High Springs.
