Mr. Floyd was born in Newberry, Fla., to Jonathan “Jack” and Lillie Hull Floyd on September 14, 1930.

He was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

He was a graduate of Newberry High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kidd during the Korean War.

Mr. Floyd and his wife, Evelyn, lived in Gainesville from 1963 until 1990 when they moved to their home they built in Bell, Fla. in 1990. Mr. Floyd obtained his accounting education from La Salle Extension University and retired in 1991 from Florida Farm Bureau after 19 years as an insurance accountant where he became well known as “Mr. Premium Finance” due to his successful debt collection and auditing abilities.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Polk Floyd, Bell, Fla., his daughter and son-in-law, Diana (Stephen) Floyd Ockay of Anniston, Ala., his son and daughter-in-law, Charlie (Laurie) Floyd of Gainesville, Fla., four grandchildren, Christopher Floyd and Kelli Murphy of Gainesville, Fla., Stephanie Wilson and Samantha Ockay of Anniston, Ala., and three great grandchildren, Kinsley, Brinleigh and Haileigh.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, October 9 at 2 p.m. at the University City Church of Christ, 4626 NW 8^th Avenue, Gainesville, Fla.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions should be made to University City Church of Christ in Remembrance of Charles B. Floyd, Sr.

Allene Joyce Strickland Seaton

Allene Joyce Strickland Seaton, 75, of Alachua, Fla., went home to be with Jesus at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

She was born in Gainesville, Fla. on April 25, 1936. Allene was the owner of the Mop & Go housekeeping service and had many special clients. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and a longstanding member of the Kenneth Copeland Ministries. She enjoyed the outdoors and scouting out garage sales. She was a simple woman and a southern cook who loved to entertain and care for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, A. J. Strickland; her mother, Leila M. Jones Strickland; brother, Ronnie Strickland; her sister, Mary Lee; and her daughter-in-law, Beth Seaton.

She will be dearly missed by her ex-husband, Floyd A. Seaton; her children, Deborah ( Ray )Seaton Seay, Andy Seaton, Lyle (Macie) Seaton, and Rusty (Sharon) Seaton; her sisters, Carol (Dick) Dries and Patricia Rojas; her beloved grandchildren, Melissa (Paul) Ferrel, Steve (Renee) Howell, Jr., Marty Howell, Nicky  (Matt) McClain, Bobby Armstrong, Shannon (Joe) Moore, Ryan (Kristen) Fogarty, Stephanie Seaton; and her great grandchildren, Hannah Ferrel, Aiysha Noah, Rebecca Howell, Madelyn Howell, Noah Johnson, Jonah Mann, Elizabeth McClain, Jordy Moore, and Lane Fogarty.

Graveside Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Hague Cemetery in Hague, Fla.

Mrs. Bodiford was born in Moultrie, Ga. on July 19, 1913, to George and Maude Freeman. She was the fourth in a family of 12 and is survived by one sister, Maude Truluck; one brother, C.B. Freeman, both of Alachua; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L.B. (Monk) Bodiford, and lived independently for 41 years before moving to Plantation Oaks Assisted Living in March 2011. She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church of High Springs, Fla.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of Nature Coast, Plantation Oaks and North Florida Regional Medical Center for the loving care given to “Aunt Lois” the last year of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Nature Coast in her memory.

Services will be on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of High Springs with Steve Truluck officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in High Springs Cemetery.

She was born to the late Albert and Linnie Cook Davis in High Springs, Fla.

Mrs. King was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clarence DeSue.  She served as a Lay Speaker, Worship Leader, a member of the United Methodist Women, the PPR Committee, Break Bread Ministry Bible teacher and her greatest passion-Adult Sunday School Teacher.

She graduated from A. L. Mebane Class of 1963 and continued her education at Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona, Fla.

She was a sergeant with the Department of Corrections, retiring after 32 years of service.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister

Survivors include her husband, Fraze “Nuddy” King; children, Zuniga King and Aubrey Breon (Magen) King; stepchildren Fraze King, Jr., of New Jersey; Valerie King of Lake City and Doris King of Gainesville; grandchildren Jasmyne King of Lake City; and Breona King of Gainesville; step grandchild, Terrell Buiey and step great, grandson Tylan Buiey; sisters, Irene Adams and Roberta Adams, both of Philadelphia, Penn.; brothers, Lenard Davis of High Springs, Fla., Darnell (Helen) Davis of Maryland, Vernon (Joyce) Davis of Orlando, Fla., Alvin (Kim) Davis of High Springs, Fla., and Frank Davis of Atlanta, Ga.

A service for Mrs. King was held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Female Protective Society Temple, Gainesville, Fla.  Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery, High Springs, Fla.
