BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCHER, FLORIDA, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the City of Archer Land Development Code, as amended, hereinafter referred to as the Land Development Code, objections, recommendations and comments concerning a variance, as described below, will be heard by the City Commission of City of Archer, Florida, at a virtual public hearing, held through the use of communications media technology, on August 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard.

CITY OF ARCHER, FLORIDA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the ordinance, which title hereinafter appears, will be considered for enactment by the City Commission of the City of Archer, Florida, hereinafter referred to as the City Commission, at a virtual public hearing, held through the use of communications media technology, on August 10, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard. At the aforementioned public hearing, all interested parties may be heard with respect to the amendment and the ordinance adopting said amendment. The title of said ordinance reads, as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARCHER, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE TEXT OF THE CITY OF ARCHER LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, PURSUANT TO AN APPLICATION, LDC 20-01, BY THE CITY COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 2.01 ENTITLED DEFINITIONS BY DELETING THE DEFINITION FOR NURSERY SCHOOLS/DAY CARE CENTER AND BY ADDING THE FOLLOWING DEFINITIONS: AGRICULTURAL, AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE AND SELF-SERVICE STATION, CHILD CARE CENTER/CHILD CARE CENTER, OVERNIGHT, COLUMBARIUM, CONVENIENCE STORES/ CONVENIENCE STORES W/RETAIL GASOLINE, DRY CLEANER, LAUNDROMAT, DUPLEX, FUNERAL HOMES, MEDICAL MARIJUANA, OPEN-AIR MARKETS, RETAIL SALES, SHORT-TERM RENTAL, SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, SOLAR POWER GENERATION FACILITY, SPECIAL EVENTS, TEMPORARY EMERGENCY RESIDENCES, TEMPORARY STRUCTURES AND WHOLESALE SALES; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 15.01 ENTITLED ESTABLISHMENT OF DISTRICTS BY ADDING AN INDUSTRIAL, LIGHT AND WAREHOUSING (ILW) ZONING DISTRICT AND RENAMING THE INDUSTRIAL (I) ZONING DISTRICT TO INDUSTRIAL, HEAVY (I) ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 15.02 ENTITLED RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS BY DELETING THE REFERENCE TO AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 15.03 ENTITLED COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS BY DELETING THE REFERENCE TO SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCES AND DUPLEXES AS PERMITTED ACCESSORY USES; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 15.04 ENTITLED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS BY ADDING THE REQUIREMENT THAT INDUSTRIAL USES BE REQUIRED TO CONNECT TO AND USE THE CITY POTABLE WATER AND WASTEWATER SYSTEM UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND ADDING THE INTENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL, LIGHT AND WAREHOUSING (ILW) ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR DELETING AND REPLACING IN ITS ENTIRETY SECTION 16.06 ENTITLED TABLE OF PERMITTED USES; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 19.01 ENTITLED TABLE OF REQUIRED DIMENSIONS BY ADDING DIMENSIONS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL, LIGHT AND WAREHOUSING ZONING DISTRICT (ILW); PROVIDING FOR DELETING IN ITS ENTIRETY SECTION 19.03 ENTITLED SPECIAL SERVICE HOMES; PROVIDING FOR ADDING A NEW SECTION 19.03 ENTITLED COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL HOMES; PROVIDING FOR DELETING AND REPLACING IN ITS ENTIRETY SECTION 21.07 ENTITLED TABLE OF PARKING REQUIREMENTS; PROVIDING FOR AMENDING SECTION 21.47 ENTITLED REQUIRED LANDSCAPING AT TRANSITIONAL ZONES BY ADDING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL, LIGHT AND WAREHOUSING (ILW) ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR ADDING SECTION 21.72 ENTITLED AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE AND SELF-SERVICE STATIONS BY ADDING DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE AND SELF-SERVICE STATIONS; PROVIDING FOR ADDING SECTION 21.73 ENTITLED MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSING FACILITIES BY ADDING DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSING FACILITIES; PROVIDING FOR ADDING SECTION 21.74 ENTITLED CHILD CARE CENTERS BY ADDING DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR CHILD CARE CENTERS; PROVIDING FOR ADDING SECTION 21.75 ENTITLED SOLAR POWER GENERATION PLANTS BY ADDING DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR SOLAR POWER GENERATION PLANTS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The public is hereby notified that, due to the COVID-19 social distancing requirements, the City Commission, will conduct a virtual public hearing, held through the use of communications media technology, on August 10, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard in accordance with emergency meeting protocols and procedures and shall not be conducted in person at the City Commission Chamber, City Hall.

The public is encouraged to participate in the public hearing, and should check the City of Archer website www.cityofarcher.com on the day of the public hearing for information on how to connect to the public hearing. The public hearing may be continued to one or more future dates. Any interested party shall be advised that the date, time and place of any continuation of the public hearing shall be announced during the public hearing and that no further notice concerning the matter will be published, unless said continuation exceeds six calendar weeks from the date of the above referenced public hearing.
