Gladys R. Slaughter

Gladys R. Slaughter, 89, of High Springs, Fla., passed away on November 16, 2011.

Mrs. Slaughter was born on May 16, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Laura Dyer. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her loving family, sons, Richard (Rita) of High Springs, Fla. and Ronald of Gibsonton, Fla., and John of Chiefland;  three grandsons, Martin, Jeffery (Stacey) and Steven (Dana); four great-grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; sisters, Genevia Frecker, Ileen Pendergast and Alice Keaton; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Forest Grove Baptist Church family.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N. Main Street, High Springs. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Warren Chesser officiating.
