Edna LaVada Blanton, 88, of High Springs, Fla., passed away on November 27, 2011 in Gainesville, Fla. She was co-manager of Golden Peanut Company, member of First Presbyterian Church of High Springs, Church Elder and Clerk of the Sessions of the Presbyterian Church. For many years, she was a city commissioner and a longtime member of the zoning board of High Springs.
She is survived by her husband, A.M. “Firpo” Blanton of High Springs; son, David Nathanson of Rhode Island; and brother, Horace E. Brown of Archer, Fla. She was loved and will be missed by many friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Glen Busby, Rev. Warren Chesser and Rev. Russell Rasco officiating. Interment will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home.
