Annie Ruth Braggs, 82, passed away at her home in High Springs, Fla., on September 8, 2011. She was a member of the Baptist faith and had been an assembly operator at a battery plant.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Susan) Braggs of High Springs; daughters, Wanda Carter of High Springs, Linda Edison of Ocala, Donna Withrow of Orlando, Doris (David) Sutton of High Springs and Lisa Higginbothan of High Springs.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs. Funeral service was held on Sunday, Sept., 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Evans-Carter Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Waldrop officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Dorothy Sue Cruce, 74, passed away at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Fla., on Sept. 5, 2011. She was a member of Hague Baptist Church, and loved taking care of her family and her grandchildren, and loved fishing and hunting.

She is survived by her husband, J.O. Cruce, Sr.; sons, Jake Cruce and Donald Cruce of Alachua; brothers, Berry Griffis of Bell, Fla. and Norman Griffis of Hague, Fla.; sisters, Vonnell Cahill of Turkey Creek and Linda Copeland of Ft. White; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL, 32606. Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, Fla.

Mildred Irene Vinzant, 95, passed away on August 28, 2011 at her home in Alachua, Fla.

She was a member of North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed yard work and flowers always. She maintained a beautiful yard. She babysat children for 30 years and the children she took care of nicknamed her “meemaw.” She was fortunate to have traveled many places with her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Eugene Vinzant.

She is survived by her daughters; Frances Culbreth, Fannie “Ann” (Joseph) Ross, Eugenia Weeks, Janice (Lawrence) Davis and Debbie (Bill) McKibbin; sisters, Eva Ergle and Della Cox. She also has 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs.  Funeral services are Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. John United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. in Alachua with the Rev. Jeff Johnston officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs.

Ina Elizabeth Wilson, 70, passed away at her home in Alachua, Fla., on August 26, 2011.

She was a gardener, genealogist and homemaker.

She is survived by her sons; Kenneth B. Graff and Jon D. Staley; daughters, Melissa L. Graff and Susan D. Graff; brothers, Arnold Willis, Thomas Jody Hodge and Crayton Enlow Hodge, Jr.; sisters, Evelyn Lucille Lea, twin sister, Iris Rebecca Ferda, and Cheri Lark Trosclair; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs.  A graveside service will be conducted at Spring Hill Cemetery at Traxler, Alachua on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Richardson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Nature Coast, 160 N Main St., High Springs, FL 32643.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home.

Katelyn Rose Lydick, 18, of Fort White, died on August 14, 2011. She was a student at Fort White High School and a member of the Methodist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Lee Lydick.

Survivors include her mother, Kim Leigh Lydick; step-father, Allen Hunter; sisters, Kerri Lydick and Rachael Lydick; step-brother, Andrew Hunter; paternal grandmother, Patricia Lydick; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Stopka; and niece, Amelia Mulkey

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home.

A memorial Service was held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of High Springs with  Rev. Benton Mangueira officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ft. White High School Art Department in Katy’s name.
